A vessel restricted in her ability to maneuver is at anchor in restricted visibility. Under Rule 35, what fog signal must she sound at intervals of not more than 2 minutes?

  1. AOne prolonged blast
  2. BTwo prolonged blasts in succession
  3. COne prolonged blast followed by two short blasts✓ correct
  4. DOne short blast, one prolonged blast, and one short blast

Why C is correct

33 CFR §83.35(c) requires a vessel restricted in her ability to maneuver, whether underway or at anchor, to sound one prolonged followed by two short blasts at intervals of not more than 2 minutes. This signal differs from the anchor bell signal prescribed in §83.35(g) for ordinary vessels at anchor.
