USCG Exam Practice · Rule 26 — Fishing Vessels (lights)

- A3 miles
- B5 miles
- C6 miles✓ correct
- D2 miles
Why C is correct
The vessel is 50 meters or more in length, so per 33 CFR §83.22(a)(i) her masthead light must be visible at a minimum range of 6 miles. The 5-mile range applies to vessels of 12 meters or more but less than 50 meters.
