Delete your account
Last updated: August 7, 2026
This page explains how to delete your CaptainsGround account — the app published by Northpine Labs LLC — together with the study data attached to it.
Option 1 — delete it yourself, in the app
The fastest way, and it needs nobody's help:
- Open CaptainsGround on iPhone or Android.
- Go to Settings (the last tab).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm. You are signed out immediately.
On the web, the same control is in Settings.
Option 2 — ask us to delete it
Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject Delete my account. Nothing else is needed — writing from the account's own address is what identifies you. We complete the deletion within 30 days, and in practice within a few working days.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in identity: e-mail address, name and profile photo.
- Your study record: drill attempts and scores, topic mastery, mock-exam results, flashcard review schedules, your study plan and your streaks.
- Your exam profile: target credential, exam date, weekly hours.
- Product analytics tied to your account, and any error reports that carried your user id.
Deletion is immediate and permanent for the account itself: the sign-in record is destroyed at our identity provider, and the account is closed on our side the moment we are notified. The study data above is then erased within 30 days, which covers our backup rotation — a restored backup must not bring a deleted account back.
What is kept, and for how long
- Records of payments — amounts, dates, tax and the invoice itself. These are kept for 7 years because tax and accounting law requires it; they cannot be deleted on request. They are held by our payment processors (Paddle for web purchases, Apple and Google for in-app purchases) as well as by us.
- Anonymous, aggregate figures — such as how many people answered a given question correctly. These carry no identifier, cannot be traced back to you, and are what keeps the question bank honest.
Nothing else is retained. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the processors that run the service on our behalf — see the Privacy Policy.
A subscription is separate
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play — only the store can do that. Cancel it first in App Store → your name → Subscriptions or in Play Store → Payments and subscriptions, otherwise billing continues against an account that no longer exists. Web subscriptions are cancelled from Settings or by replying to your receipt. Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy.
